TBB 3.6 is ready for testing. Barring any major issues, we are planning
on calling this the new 'stable' release of TBB on Tuesday, to coincide
with Mozilla's security update:
https://people.torproject.org/~mikeperry/builds/3.6/
Here's the changelog:
* All Platforms
* Update Firefox to 24.5.0esr
* Update Tor Launcher to 0.2.5.4
* Bug #11482: Hide bridge settings prompt if no default bridges.
* Bug #11484: Show help button even if no default bridges.
* Update Torbutton to 1.6.9.0
* Bug 7439: Improve download warning dialog text.
* Bug 11384: Completely remove hidden toggle menu item.
* Update HTTPS-Everywhere to 3.5.1
* Update NoScript to 2.6.8.20
* Update obfs3 transport to 0.2.8
* Update fte transport to 0.2.13
* Backport Pending Tor Patches:
* Bug 11156: Additional obfsproxy startup error message fixes
* Bug 11586: Include license files for component software in Docs directory.
* Windows and Mac:
* Bug 9308: Prevent install path from leaking in some JS exceptions
on Mac and Windows builds

Please try these bundles, which are configured to run the meek transport
automatically. What's different about these than past meek bundles, is
that they use a web browser extension to make the HTTPS requests, so
that the TLS layer looks like Firefox. They are built on top of the
recent 3.5.4 release so they have the OpenSSL Heartbleed fix.
https://people.torproject.org/~dcf/pt-bundle/3.5.4-meek-1/
With luck, the bundles will work for you without any special
configuration. If you look at your network traffic while you are using
them, you will see some HTTPS connections to www.google.com, and nothing
to any Tor bridge or any protocol other than HTTPS.
The bundle should take care of starting up the extension and killing it
when it is done. If it doesn't, it is a bug. There is a known bug
(#11429), which is that on Mac you will see two dock icons. The second
one is the one that is running the extension.
David Fifield
As we discussed at the dev meeting, we're going to try doing pre-build
announcements of releases, to give people time to be aware that we will
need some testing help soon, and so that interested people can try building
a given tag early, to verify reproducibility.
Tag tbb-3.6beta1-build1 (fb9453c51306ad39d261617e2cb3ba8e18368574) was
just pushed to https://git.torproject.org/builders/tor-browser-bundle.git.
It should once again be possible to build from non-KVM/VT machines that only
support LXC (by setting the USE_LXC=1 environment variable before
build).
'make beta' is the command you want to build this tag, run from the
gitian subdirectory in a tor-browser-bundle.git checkout.
Once we get confirmation on reproducibility (earlier commits were fine,
so we should be good), we'll begin testing. Probably Monday/Tuesday.
Here's the Changelog (changes from 3.5.2.1):
Tor Browser Bundle 3.6-beta-1

* Obfsproxy3 0.2.4, Flashproxy 1.6, and FTE 0.2.6 are now included

We tagged TBB 3.5.4 earlier today:
ada623c4cbc145521980e6bce08611cff7e81cad tbb-3.5.4-build3
It will hopefully be up sometime in the next 8-12 hours or so for quick
testing. If anyone beats me to producing a build from that commit hash**,
feel free to reply to this mail with a URL.
The changes from 3.5.3 are minimal:
* All Platforms
* Update OpenSSL to 1.0.1g
