by Jérôme Charaoui 21 Jan '25

Hello, Considering the near-complete absence of activity on this list for a very long time, it has been decided to close it down. This mailing list will thus be disabled next Monday, January 27th. If you're still interested in following and/or contributing to the web development projects at the Tor Project, please check out the "tpo/web" subgroup on our GitLab instance at https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web Thanks, -- Jérôme member of TPA (Tor Project admins)

kez AFK
by Kez 05 Oct '23

05 Oct '23

hi all, i'm currently dealing with a family emergency that's taking up all my time and pulling me away from work enough that it's affecting my productivity and ability to get things done. i'm going to be indefinitely AFK, for at least the rest of october. i'll try to poke my head into email/irc at least once a week, but i won't be able to do much more than respond to simple questions. i'll provide an update as we get closer to the end of october about whether or not i'll be returning soon. i apologize for any trouble this sudden leave might cause. if there's anything you need that you might normally go to me for, please file a ticket with TPA instead and anarcat/lavamind will be able to help out thanks for understanding, kez

TPA RFC 30: Changing how lektor plugins are used
by kez 13 Jun '22

13 Jun '22

Hi all, A while ago lavamind suggested we change how our lektor sites consume and symlink plugins from lego. It was related to another RFC I wrote, so I've also written TPA-RFC-30. You can find the TPA-RFC at this link <https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/tpa/team/-/wikis/policy/tpa-rfc-30-change…> and the discussion thread is <https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/team/-/issues/16>. I'd appreciate your input if you have any! Kez

TPA-RFC 29: Lektor SCSS plugin
by kez 13 Jun '22

13 Jun '22

Following up on my last email about TPA-RFC 30: here's one about TPA-RFC 29! This RFC is proposing that we use a lektor-specific plugin based around python's libsass to automate building and rebuilding our SCSS files. It started in a very informal way, so the RFC document itself is a bit rough around the edges, but hopefully still readable. The RFC document is here <https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/tpa/team/-/wikis/policy/tpa-rfc-29-lektor…> and the discussion thread is <https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/web/lego/-/issues/27> Like TPA-RFC 30 this proposal has a 1 week deadline and will close June 8 2022. If you have any feedback, I'd love to hear it! Kez

[metrics] geo ip db outdated ?
by arksystemes-tor 17 May '22

17 May '22

Hello dears, I just started a relay in Tbilisi (Ge) 83AD39AB3C0AB4727702E8DD2FE7ED5E79B31712 but on the relay information page it appears to be located in Canada. The reason seems to be the version of the geo ip db used to locate the relay ip. Regards, Ark operator.

Hi Wilton! Thanks for your donation! Very much appreciated in these difficult times. I am going to look into this and fix it soon. Onion Bitcoin Donation Page Down?
by Wilton Gorske 06 Nov '20

06 Nov '20

Hey web team et al, Firstly, hope you all are safe, well, and looking forward to the weekend. Secondly, and why I'm reaching out, I sent some bitcoin via the donation page [1], but the "Report Donation" button doesn't work (even with the lowest security slider setting in Tor Browser). Interestingly, the v3 BTCPayServer also looks down which was linked on the previous page (see attached screenshots) [2]. If it helps--not sure if anything is in the logs, but nothing happened after hitting the button: Amount (BTC): -0.0009629 Transaction ID: 7e2892cea5a902fb33da4b75360daa8620d7098e2a21da30a909cdc9ab08390a Transaction date: 2020-11-06 20:05 In solidarity, Wilton 1 http://gsxohj375bk7gjal.onion/cryptocurrency/ 2 http://sqgf7aihkpxwdtcb3zjf62jo63o5yqjckukioas3aropdmcay4ymepid.onion/apps/…

Add options for 32 bit linux download on the main download page
by Anton Luka Šijanec 11 Aug '20

11 Aug '20

Hello, www-team! The recent (2019) redesign of the website confused me a bit. For example the download page on the main page (https://www.torproject.org/download/) provides no option to select Tor Browser target architecture, users must manually go to https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/9.5.3/ (no link points to this address) to download their specific architecture if they do not have 64-bit Linux. It would be useful, at least in my humble opinion, to either detect user's architecture with some Javascript code or to provide an additional button for 32-bit Linux downloads of the Tor Browser Bundle. Thanks and regards! -- anton(a)xn--ijanec-9jb.eu
