The key findings of our study illustrate that 10 websites (including Pinterest, the website of the World Economic Forum, and online dating sites) presented signs of DNS, TCP/IP and HTTP interference during Zambia's 2016 election period, while previously blocked news outlets (such as zambiawatchdog.com) appeared to be accessible during the testing period. While the blocking of pornography and sites supporting LGBT dating (as indicated by this study) could potentially be legally justified under Zambia's Penal Code and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 2009, the motivation and legal justification behind the potential blocking of other sites (such as Pinterest) remains unclear. No block pages were detected as part of this study that could _confirm_ cases of censorship. Hi all, I ran ooniprobe -i /var/lib/ooni/decks/deck-in/default-user.deck I also read the manpage but there doesn't seem to be a way to know when the tests are completed. Hi, Great work on the OONI data. A small error. Go to: https://explorer.ooni.torproject.org/country/AU It lists the top level domain as .at (and then gives stats of 8 million people etc). This is true for Austria but not for Australia (top level domain .au, population 22 million etc.). FYI, Hugo Connery

ooniprobe in wheezy-backports?

Hi everyone. Looking at the documentation at https://ooni.torproject.org/docs/ it looks like I should be able to install ooniprobe from wheezy-backports; however, I am not seeing it there. `apt-get install ooniprobe` doesn't find it after adding the source, and it doesn't seem to appear on http://backports.debian.org/Packages/. Greetings! We are very pleased to announce that the registrations for the OONI Open Data hackathon “A Dive Into Network Anomalies” are now open! If you would like to come to Rome, Italy October 1st-2nd 2015 and hack on some internet censorship data in the Italian Parliament NOW is the moment to register. By visiting https://ooni.torproject.org/event/adina15/ at the end of the page you will see a list of projects that we have proposed ourselves. We strongly encourage people to submit their own ideas and don’t want to put any limits on what you can do. We are also very happy to announce that AirVPN has offered to sponsor the prizes, so there will be some interesting prizes for the awarded teams. Unfortunately due to particular house rules it is a requirement that people submit their full legal name and we need to submit these names to the Italian Parliament before the event. Moreover the style police will be making sure that people are wearing jackets at all time while inside of the Italian Parliament (again, sorry this is not our rule, but be creative, what is the REAL definition of a jacket? ;)).
