Rendezvous on non-OR circuit?

I've been running a tor relay for several days now (C65EF5E06B8338CF976D376048BE2C8FBD499C9C). During my regular checks I noticed something odd within the tor log files. [WARN] Tried to establish rendezvous on non-OR circuit with purpose Acting as rendevous (pending) It occurs several times per hour and I couldn't find anything except the [bug tracker](https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/ticket/15618) which seems to be outdated (newest message is four weeks old). I'm concerned that this could be some kind of "attack" that could compromise users, as I'm running an exit node. Does somebody have more information on this matter?

How long before a new relay shows up in Relay Search?

Hello, I've recently set up a new relay: Tor 0.3.3.7 (git-035a35178c92da94) on a FreeBSD-11.2 machine. The Tor server's identity key fingerprint is: 'Chiron420 9C7BB4BCB58AC876D83B67277A0CF3BC73F4FDF6' A search for this relay on the metrics site says "No Results found!" <https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#search/Chiron420%209C7BB4BCB58AC876D…> Is this typical or might there be something awry in my setup? Thanks!

Random Relay Reset On Mac OS + OS Support Question

Hello, So something strange happened recently with my relay running on Mac OS via homebrew at https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#details/DB1AF6477BB276B6EA5E72132684… Just this morning, my relays uptime had been reset to 0 days. When I checked the software it indeed said the uptime was back to six hours. This is odd as I did not reset thee software within the last 24 hours (that I remember), there was a brief time when my network went down due to an ISP glitch however has been working fine ever since. I am wondering, do newer versions of the tor relay software automatically reset if they detect the internet is unreachable? I also have one more question, around when does tor / homebrew drop support for older versions of an OS? I am asking this because the computer that runs this relay is a 2011 iMac, and Apple has confirmed it will run the new MacOS coming this year (Movari) however versions of macos afterwards are unconfirmed. Shutdown by ISP / Hoster? [was Albania]

When these ISP's give their shutdowns and excuses, regardless of size of ISP, you could in turn... - Offer to work there, they probably need the help, and you get something from the experience. - Start your own, customers probably need the services, and would be willing to pay. Why vote with only your own customer dollars, when you can add your brain and voice into the production.

Albania Hosting suspended my two relays

Greetings Tor Users, I wanted to pass along the death of two of my relays, one was a fallback directory and one exit, both on VPS hardware operated by Albania Hosting sh. a. I successfully operated the guard/middle node for three years without an abuse report. [0] Based on that success, I asked and was granted permission to operate an exit relay. [1] That relay went six months before the first abuse report. I responded to the first report promptly reviewing logs, checking for intrusion, etc. The second abuse report got me suspended. Both abuse reports were of the automated type. I did not see the second report until after suspension and by requesting it be forwarded. In the second instance there was reported one ftpd attack attempt over a period of 3600 seconds. Apparently, no further attempts were made. I was the first Tor relay in Albania and the first Tor exit relay as well so I'm very sad that this will end. I think the issue with Albania Hosting was not so much the automated abuse reports but the inconvenience dealing with me. To quote a recent Hosting email: "Actually we will not fight with such abuses, it is really not worth any penny." So, RIP... ExoneraTor has moved to Tor Metrics; [release] ExoneraTor 3.0.0

Hi, the ExoneraTor service (where one can "enter an IP address and date to find out whether that address was used as a Tor relay") has moved to the Tor Metrics website: https://metrics.torproject.org/exonerator.html Requests to the previous location are automatically redirected to the new location, which includes all permanent links written/printed on previous lookup results. The current plan is to leave redirects in place for the next 6 to 12 months, but if there's a good reason to keep them for longer, please let us know. Just in case you're wondering why we're making this change, it is part of a more long-term effort to bundle all user-facing Tor Metrics content on the Tor Metrics website. Over the past months and years this has affected the Onionoo protocol specification, CollecTor files, the Relay Search service, and now the ExoneraTor service, all of which have been moved over to the Tor Metrics website. At the same time of changing the location of Exonerator, we're releasing ExoneraTor 3.0.0 which redirects all requests to Tor Metrics. However, redirects can easily be disabled in src/main/resources/web.xml, if requests are supposed to be handled locally.
