Hi Weston, thanks for adding an exit relay. Please do not forget to set/update the MyFamily parameter in your torrc configuration to tell clients your relays belong to a single operator, otherwise they might use your relays in multiple positions within a circuit, which is rather bad for their anonymity. Over 55k eth RX errors

Hi everyone, I am running an exit node[1] with nocix (previously known as datashack) and everything worked pretty well until the beginning of March when they moved the physical location of my dedicated server: since then I am registering a lot of eth0 errors[2] and, as atlas is showing, a lot of downtime. Note also that previously I've run the server for like a year without any single eth error! I've already contacted them asking to check the cables and they replied everything it's ok but I am starting to think that *it must be* some kind of hardware issue. I'd like to debug the issue furthermore to excude any software related problem but I don't know what to do, has anybody got a hint? Strange behaviour Tor 0.2.9.10

Hello list, my bridge/client has been behaving strangely the last few days. It took 36 hours to notice that my IP address had changed, and seems to be going into some sort of sleep state - automated curl fetches start failing, and keep failing until I manually curl to a well-known site, at which point everything else starts working. Relay installation instructions

Hi I went to install a new relay today and found the guide on torproject.org had changed. I used to follow this page: https://www.torproject.org/docs/tor-relay-debian.html.en and where it says : If you're on Ubuntu or if you want to track newer Tor packages, follow the Tor on Ubuntu or Debian instructions to use our repository. The link works but this link used to have instructions for installing from the tor project repositories and installing the gpg key. I do not see those instructions now. The debian instructions in section 1 installs tor 0.2.5.12-4 I logged into another relay and found the commands and repositories via the history command and I was able to install tor successfully. Is this an oversight? Did I just miss something? jmd

CentOS Tor exit node broken after updating to 2.8.12

Hello, I recently upgraded my tor version to 2.8.12 from 2.8.9(?) I think. Aggressive abuse report

Hi list, I am running Kadoc[0] for a few weeks and got today a more aggressive complain from a System Administrator of my VPS provider. I seek for an appropriate response to not get banned. Does someone experienced a similar scenario and succeeded to educate the sys admins ? Here's the complain: /"It is running a Tor Exit, hence producing a false positive." is not a valid reason.// //You are the one responsible for the traffic generated on/trough your server, so you should make sure that no similar traffic will appear in future. Illegal actions are strictly prohibited in our network/servers.// //Please take immediate actions to stop this kind of activity./ I am almost sure that trying to argument that I am not responsible for the traffic generated through my Exit is not the right angle with such guy. Changing exit to bridge

Hey Folks. I am going to change my Exit to a Bridge or whatever. When im browsing the Web i receive tons auf capchas and my KODI mediacenter is unable to update itself. I have my private IP fromm y Internet connection listet on some blacklists. Thats bad. What can i do to contribute and support the TOR-Network without being bugged and limited on my own private Internet Connection? Hope you can help me with some cool suggestions. Best, volker

Public ntop service

Hello Relay Ops! Few days ago, the bad relay team found some public ntop service running on these relays on port 3000 for which they have no or an invalid contact info. 0.2.9.10 dir port warning

Just upgraded my relay 855BC2DABE24C861CD887DB9B2E950424B49FC34 to 0.2.9.10 and now I get a new warning in the log file: Mar 13 12:02:22.000 [notice] Bootstrapped 100%: Done Mar 13 12:03:20.000 [warn] Cannot make an outgoing connection without a DirPort. Mar 13 12:03:21.000 [notice] Self-testing indicates your DirPort is reachable from the outside. Excellent. Publishing server descriptor. Everything is working fine, just curious about the warning. Is it an actual problem with my setup or a quirk of 0.2.9.10?
