Hello community team!
I am bugging all teams with this :)
As a result of organizing ourselves into teams and coordinate our
efforts towards similar goals (e.g. better support for mobile users).
Tor's Vegas teams are in need of better visibility of what each one is
doing and better coordination of deliverables/dependencies.
In order to achieve that, I am asking all Vegas teams to organize their
work in a roadmap (covering at least till end of 2017).
Once that is done, I would like the team to identify possible
dependencies on other teams to get your work done.
Here are some roadmaps other teams have started:
Network
https://storm.torproject.org/shared/OUb00TinYTQhsLEpPjCdRQlr7IKiIdPVmzl339R…
UX
https://storm.torproject.org/shared/eknijNLoQdquePmP1uZrADmYrXDvI2pWc-F1oa_…
Tor Browser
https://storm.torproject.org/shared/WoXgKh9r6-1uMhz4Ln93tY-sITwoxM6gQfrwOG1…
I know the community team has some dependencies on UX team :) with the
support portal. But you might be able to learn how you could help other
teams as you look at their work.
That is why I am asking you to do this exercise. Let me know if you have
any questions and if I can help you in any way.
Thanks,
Isabela
Hi,
I just saw Alisons' ticket to the membership guidelines.
Alison: What do you mean by "refine"?
... and where can I make a few comments to the content?
I wasn't sure. Else I will write it down in an email ;)
Bye,
Carolin

Hi,
I will be giving a Tor talk at the Open Data Camp at Google India in
Bangalore, on 22 April. You can find more details here:
http://odc.datameet.org/odcblr2017
(The page should be updated shortly.)
There are also plans for a CryptoParty on Friday; I will update when I have
more information.
If anyone has worked with open data or given talks at related events, I am
looking for suggestions on how we can interleave it with privacy and anonymity
and therefore, Tor.

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that we'll have our regular meeting this Wednesday,
April 19 at 1800 UTC in #tor-project IRC on oftc. Here's our shared
meeting pad:
https://storm.torproject.org/shared/qgeJYFyoaXCTIBbdKwDwtPxuFVO4wfC9sI7t9Id…
For this meeting, I suggest we start using MeetBot:
https://wiki.debian.org/MeetBot/. I haven't used it myself, but other
Tor teams use it and I think it really helps with organization.
Here's an agenda, feel free to add:
1. Training and outreach updates (anyone who has an update, including
recent trainings)
2. Global South work -- progress report
3. Support portal (and outreach portal) updates

Hi Community Team,
Here are some of my suggested additions to the glossary page at
https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/community/glossary
that could be helpful to new contributors (or maybe just people
interested in the project):
=== GSoC ===
Tor participates in the Google Summer of Code, which is a summer program
for university students.
=== TPI ===
TPI is an acronym for The Tor Project, Inc.
=== tpo ===
People on IRC often use `tpo` to abbreviate `torproject.org` when
writing hostnames. For example, `trac.tpo` is an abbreviation for
`trac.torproject.org`.

Is this still a topic :)?

Hi all,
Sorry for the late reminder, I just got in from Amsterdam last night and
I've been running around catching up with things all day today.
We will have our regular meeting tomorrow at 1800 UTC. I'd like it if
folks who were at the Amsterdam meeting could give some reportbacks
about what we all worked on there. For me, that was mainly support
portal stuff and Global South stuff.
If you have other things for the agenda, let me know.
See you tomorrow,
Alison

This looks wonderful.
I def think tor should be in contact, because I know dig sec support can
often be a "not sexy" topic for funders.
Hope y'all are having a dope time in Amsterdam!

Hi community team,
I thought some of us might be interested in this project from The Ford
Foundation and The Engine Room looking at the digital security support
ecosystem for civil society organizations.
https://www.theengineroom.org/announcing-a-new-project-looking-into-the-dig…
The goal, at least from Ford's perspective, is to figure out how funders
can better support said ecosystem.
Michael Brennan seems to be involved. If anyone wants an introduction to
him I can do that.
