Hi,

In September, I resumed work on the Tor Messenger.

- Primarily, I worked with Arlo on creating bundles for the Tor
Messenger [0]. We now have bundles for Linux and OS X with some (very
few) security settings and Tor Launcher support. These bundles are not
publicly available yet -- we plan to make them available for testing
after we are convinced that we have addressed the main security
issues. We will move to an automated build system, with deterministic
  builds as our final goal.

This also takes care of #10949, #10940.

- I also spent a while investigating the security configuration of
Instantbird, building on the work Jake and I did for TorBirdy
(Instantbird is a Thunderbird fork.) There is a lot to be done in this
area as this constitutes the main part of "securing Instantbird."

- Also related is the ControlPort support for Tor Messenger. I had
started working on this for TorBirdy and I spent some time trying to
adapt it for Instantbird but I have not made much progress with this.

We will work towards automated builds and securing Instantbird in
October.
