[tor-project] Tor Project is participating in GSoC and the next Outreachy (May to August 2020) round

Hi everyone,

You may have noticed that we have a lot of eager students showing up on irc these days looking for help to get started :) Both of these schemes are currently in the application/contribution periods, which run as follows:

GSoC: February 20, 2020 to March 31, 2020 [1]
Outreachy: March 5, 2020 to April 7, 2020 [2]

During this period applicants are expected to get in contact with mentors to discuss the project and complete a series of tasks to demonstrate their skills.

Please help them to feel welcome and direct them as follows if they are asking for help:

1. For GSoC, we have an ideas page[3] which lists the mentors for each project. They should direct their questions to the mentors and follow the “Getting Started” instructions in the project description. If the project does not currently have “Getting Started” tasks, please work with me to add some
2. For Outreachy, we have a wiki[4] which also lists the mentors for each project and a set of tasks to complete.

If applicants are not clear on how to proceed or they need further help, please direct them to me or the project mentors.
