-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 Submitted a pull of an initial design. I don't like the color scheme yet, so feel free to get a good color scheme in. The one thing is the Tor logo is kind of terrible when it comes to color composition hah. Let me know, if you have any suggestions or modifications of your own. Lance Alex Lynham:
Looking at the repo - am I understanding correctly that it's to be a static site? Happy to chip in though I'm away for a couple of days starting tmw. the-frey on GitHub if that helps. Cheers, A

I'm all for the MIT license. Checking the Tor Project's gitweb instance, it appears that the web projects have various licenses. If we need to re-license it later to fit a standard, then we can always do so.
I also gave you contributor access to the GitHub repo. If anyone else wants contributor access, just let me know.

I'm pretty sure I can do it all in CSS, that's where I will start. I added the MIT license to my fork if you all are good with that you can pull it if you like.

That sounds great! My only concern is if we are still able to
manipulate the download button using dropdowns without JS. If that's
possible, then I'm all for going without it (which would make things
much easier).
If we need to use JS with the dropdowns, then we can just start with
the non-JS version first and work from there.

When I get home in a few hours I will start on the html/css . My
thoughts are to not use any javascript at all, that way we don't
need to have non-js and js versions.
Thoughts?

That's really elegant. It seems that they're just setting the logo
as
the background and also setting a background color. Should be easy
enough to replicate.

Firefox has a very nice download page where they overlay the logo

I created a GitHub repository for the project here (attempting to

It's just a quick and easy way for us to collaborate for now.
Ideally, I'd like to have it hosted
on https://gitweb.torproject.org/ [2] [3], but I'm not sure what
the
policies are for adding a project. Could one of the Tor Project
members shed some light on this? Thanks.
I'll be committing my changes to the GitHub repository. All
contributions are greatly appreciated!

That would be great, Lance.
Does the Tor Project have an official git server we can use, or
should I create a GitHub repo?

That's a great idea. I'll mockup a page without JS also, which
would
be a simple list.

If js is disabled, then the fallback should have a link to "All

I've completed a rough mockup of the site. I'm still debating
whether
language should be a prominent option or under the "Something
Else" field,
so I tried to mirror the current site in that regard.
All of the defaults would be auto-detected using JS. If JS is
disabled,
then the most common options are pre-selected (English, Windows,
32-bit,
Stable).
All feedback is greatly appreciated. If people like the site,
then I'll go
ahead and build it in HTML/CSS/JS.
Here is the mockup:
