It is running on OVH, so want to be safe. Thanks.
No, it's generally not safe from abuse complaints. Most IRC admins, who dislike Tor, have long blocked Tor relays from their servers. Your exit node is also usable for probing open ports on the limited number of ports that you allow exit traffic to, which could trigger some automated abuse detection systems.
I doubt your provider will receive a complaint anytime soon, but there is no guarantee if that was what you hoped to receive.
If you want to continue running an IRC-only exit node, it would be helpful if you considered adding port 6697 and 9999, which are both common IRC-over-TLS ports. Hopefully, nobody will connect via an exit node to clear text IRC ports :-)
All the best, Alex.
Hmm isnt it necessary to have ports 80 and 443 open to be an exit or something like that?

To get the Exit-flag today, you must allow exit traffic to port 80 and 443. Historically, before ticket #23637 was resolved back in 2017, the policy was that at least two of port 80, 443, and 6667 had to be allowed.
All the best, Alex.
Thx very much. If OVH does get an abuse complaint the most that will happen is termination of the vps correct? Thx. --Keifer

Based on the information from our wiki[1] from 2014, it sounds like they terminate the VPS. I have no experience with OVH, so others on the mailing list should probably chime in here.
All the best, Alex.

Like many network providers, OVH expects you to do two things in response to every complaint: 1) Respond to the complaint, and explain why it happened 2) Stop it from happening again
There are some standard abuse response templates for Tor relays on the wiki and in the mailing list archives.
If the complaint contains an IP address and port, you can block that IP (or network) in your ExitPolicy.
T
Well I guess that depends on what the complain is about! Sending Spam Mails is not as bad as distributing child pornography for example.
