hi matt,

well, one way "around" this is in firefox is to use:

    <http://googlebar.mozdev.org/>

rather than the 'default' firefox toolbar

and specify English/US (or whatever ...) as the option for search in the 
toolbar.  then, search seems to be sent to a specific site w/ specific 
parameters, regardless of the exit point ...


at some point, i still suspect this is config'able in the Tor 'mappings' ... 
but gotta read/play more.
