Comment:

 When this came up recently on IRC (I don't know if the reporter is the
 same person), there was a background `tor.real` process that prevented the
 tor subprocess from launching.  I think it might have been due to a Tor
 Browser auto-update to 7.0.6 given the timing but there wasn't really
 enough information to be sure.

 Maybe Tor Launcher can detect when there's already a `tor.real` running
 and offer to kill it if it seems to prevent it from launching tor?
