[metrics-team] server-descriptor not readable (2018-02-08-11-05-00-server-descriptors has >30k descriptors)

Hi Kathi, hi Metrics folks. For what it's worth DocTor has an hourly
cron job that runs Stem's validator on present descriptors...

And it's hard to track down the cause of the error, since there are no error messages anywhere, the program just keeps running forever. To debug this I would need to go into the metrics lib source code...
