Huge increase in bridge connections

      Just trying to understand if this is normal or if something else is 
going on.
I have 2 bridges on a VPS.  One is designated as "moat", the other 
"email".  Until earlier today, for over a year, both averaged under 10 
unique clients, per 6-hour reporting period.
Today, the "moat" bridge, in a single period went from single digits to 
almost 300 unique clients.  Is this normal/possible or what other 
explanation could there be.
