how long till the axe falls on little guard relays?

The guard status of the relay here is hanging on by a thread (consensus 5-in-favor 4-against) and this had me wondering until I read [tor-relays] don't worry (to much) if your relay is loosing the guard flag https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-relays/2014-July/005043.html Looking at the Consensus Health page it's clear that about 1000 other relays are also separated from Guard Oblivion by a single vote. I'm curious if anyone knows roughly when the next authority will upgrade to a version with the new criteria and the little guards get the chop.

I wonder why there is a sudden decrease in number of Guard nodes? -kali-

Because of the guard security changes that are currently being conducted, and specifically this section of proposal 236: https://gitweb.torproject.org/torspec.git/blob/38e1ccdecac69be6651fc6d0ffb0b... Please read this paper for more information: https://www.petsymposium.org/2014/papers/Dingledine.pdf

Yes, it seems so. You can read some analysis on this here: https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-dev/2014-March/006458.html

Thanks. At least it is good to see the graph stabilizing a bit after the sudden drop. -kali-
