When setting myfamily on a particular relay, do you list itself plus others or only others? I ask because it's my understanding that you set itself + others but on atlas, for one relay I see in its family listing, it shows itself plus the 2nd one. And therefore it receives a (3) after it's nickname in the atlas listing. On the other relay it only lists the other in family listing. And it has a (2) in it's atlas listing next to nickname. Agreed. All of my 50 relays list all relays including itself.

Yes, there are two ways: You can use a defaults torrc file. In some systems, this is in /etc/tor/torrc-defaults You can use the include directive, which is only available in recent tor versions. See the manual page for details.
