having just 1 exit port - helpful?

If just 1 port would be opened at an relay, eg. 6697, would this help the Tor network or would only spammers and DDoS use that port? -- Toralf PGP C4EACDDE 0076E94E

Without 80 and 443 you will not get an exit flag. Markus

If you don't ports 443 and 80 open on your relay for at least one IPv4 /8 block, it won't get the exit flag, so it won't be used nearly as much for exiting compared with other relays with the exit flag. https://gitweb.torproject.org/torspec.git/tree/dir-spec.txt#n2564 On 6/01/19 11:42 PM, Toralf Förster wrote:

If I recall that port correct, it's used for IRC. So your exit relay would benefit people using IRC. If I recall correctly, you need ports 80 and 443 to get the exit flag so it might not work for IRC at all. That said, you still benefit the network as a middle relay helping with hidden service traffic, potentionally being a user's guard, among other things :) Cordially, Nathaniel Suchy Jan 6, 2019, 5:42 AM by toralf.foerster@gmx.de:
