Not as rare as vanilla websurfing oriented people think. There are lots of tech implementors, pen test companies, diagnostics, p2p application developers, torrenters, etc... who use nothing but literal IPv4/6 numeric addresses over tor all day long. This is why it *sucks* that MAPADDRESS hasn't yet been enhanced to support even the simplest of /CIDR mapping semantics. *.fqdn DNS is hardly half the picture.
