Hello, In CAD, the organization I work for, we created some simple scripts to setup a Mumble server in Tails and published it as Onion Service. We wrote a blog post about it and we would be very happy if you have the time to read, tested and give some feedback. Hola, Codigo Sur produced this resource about Tor (in spanish). cheers, gus --- https://milpadigital.org/milpadigital-8/ Tor son las siglas en inglés para “The Onion Router”, algo así como “El Enrutador de Cebolla”, el término viene porque es una red que funciona en capas, como las cebollas. El navegador Tor es una herramienta de código abierto que sirve para navegar por la red Tor. Es efectiva para eludir la censura ya que nos permite salir a internet por un punto ubicado en otro país. Cuando pensamos en censura de contenidos con frecuencia creemos que esto sucede solamente en países con gobiernos represivos como China o Egipto. Pero la censura de contenidos en base a la ubicación geográfica es una práctica muy extendida que ocurre en la gran mayoría de los países, si no en todos.

Hi Tor friends! Friday, Sept 27, we held our monthly Global South Meeting. Here are some notes: - nvjacobo and marco19_ did presentations on Tor in Cumbre de Contribuidores de Open Source Software, Guadalajara, MX https://ccoss.org/  - marco19_ is finishing some Spanish docs about the different tools around Tor  - marco19_ will run an activity at IPN, MX  - Antonela did a short presentation during the MediaParty19, Argentina, early this month.  - Tierra Comun Coop is doing some infographic (almost done for review) in Spanish, and some trainings on Tor with Journalists and HRDs in Mexico funded by OTF. To get retro on the tools we are using a self hosted limesurvey instance, So we'll share this and hope we can talk more with UX team. https://www.opentech.fund/results/supported-projects/strengthening-digital-…  - Cybelle had a talk last week at ABCDev, in Sao Paulo, Brazil   - Cybelle will run a talk at Mozfest next month. Guardian Project and some Tor folks will attend the event too.  - gwolf will give a webinar to ISOC.mx (Internet Society Mexican chapter) about priv+anon, of course mentioning Tor, on Oct 10, 19:00 Mexican time  - caioau reached out to a Brazilian provider to ask them if they allow to create a exit relay with them, got a big discount to create a new VPS , so created a bridge, its a very fast provider  *Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Oct 30, 16UTC, #tor-south* Not a contributor yet? Tor Global South meeting

Hi Tor's friends, We'll hold our monthly Global South meeting on September 27, Friday, 16 *UTC*[1] at IRC, *OFTC*[2], #tor-south. If you need a little help using IRC, read the *IRC for complete beginners*[3]. If you are already a contributor, bring your updates, questions, or just join us, but if you still not a volunteers and are thinking about contributing to the Tor Project, a good start is to read *Get Involved*[4] and attend meetings, that are open to all. It's not of today that Project Tor strives to reach people worldwide through education in privacy technologies. There're a effort to reach out to a more diverse and engaged audience of human rights defenders in the Global South. User Feedback Program started two years ago, which combines training with user experience research. Hola! va mail en**español. Durante Agosto tuvimos algunas actividades en el hacklab. 1. Un taller interno sobre como levantar un relay, donde terminamos levantando Exit Node nuevo :). 2. Un workshop para medios independientes sobre tor en general y como levantar servicios .onion. 3. Un equipo de trabajo esta ayudando a algunos medios independientes de los que vinieron al workshop a terminar de levantar sus servicios .onion. Nos gustaria hacer un meetup antes de fin de año. Si alguien viene para Bs As avise y organizamos algo :). Abrazo!
