Hi Yimmidisetti. The way that GSoC applications work is...

1. Pick a project from
https://www.torproject.org/getinvolved/volunteer.html.en#Coding or
figure out one of your own.
2. Contact the mentor via (preferably including the tor-dev@ list or
talking openly in #tor-dev on irc).
3. Get your feet wet with the project by submitting some small bug
fixes and writing a GSoC application.
4. If your application is among our favorite then we'll pick it. We
consider involvement with tor development prior to the selection
deadline to be a major plus.
