I mostly do gentoo development where I bring kernel and toolchain 
hardening to uclibc systems.  arm is definitely in sight.  I'm working 
on the beagleboard and Genesi.

Boot the vps from the iso image as if you're doing an install.  I don't 
know how rackmount nodes work, but I assume you can do something like that.

I can write scripts for transferring the iso to usb or sd/micro sd card.

In general, if I have (or were given) access to hardware or 
virtualization env, I can make a targeted image.
