arm, TorCtl, and FreeBSD

I have heard that 'arm' will not run on FreeBSD ... even though it is a 
python script, some network functions are linux only ?

Can anyone confirm or deny this ?

Secondly, the TorCtl python tool that is a requirement of 'arm' - is that 
available as a normal HTTP download somewhere, or do I need to svn co ?
