Yes, you are right, Nick.  My apologies.  This came up when I was trying to
install 0.2.0.6-alpha over an existing 0.2.0.4-alpha

The test you mention above doesn't exist in 0.1.2.17.  Is it possible you
have source for a later version (0.2.0.x) intead?
