Not at all trying to be condescending really poncenby, just a silly
sarcastic way to make a point.  Probably true in Nicks case too.

One time this guy murdered this little girl with a hammer.  Ever since then
I have refused to use hammers.  I think hammers are evil.  I don't think
anyone should use hammers.  In fact hammers should be outlawed.  I am
starting a petition and movement to outlaw hammers.
