What good is tor for webbrowsing, if your ip address is not hidden

Hi,

I have just started using tor for interest.

ssh to another machine showed that my origin ip address was changed.

Webbrowsing showed that my origin ip address was submitted.

Do I have a misconfiguration, or why is that so?
