Below you'll find the highlights of Tor metrics team work done in
October 2016.

Implemented descriptor synchronization between CollecTor [1] instances
that fetches missing descriptors from one or more remote CollecTor
instances, verifies them, and sorts them into the local descriptor
store. The goal is to further reduce gaps in the data.

Made user graph updates on Metrics [2] faster by roughly 3 seconds by
switching the underlying data format from comma separated values files
to the RData format.

Released CollecTor version 1.0.2 [3] with smaller updates to the
bridge descriptor sanitizer and version 1.1.0 [4] as first release to
implement synchronization of descriptors from other CollecTor instances.

Expanded the CollecTor operator's guide [5] based on a more general
template for writing operator's guides for metrics services.

Released metrics-lib/DescripTor version 1.5.0 [6] that makes the
DescriptorCollector implementation that uses CollecTor's index.json
