Hello All -

Here are the highlights from the world of Tor marketing, communications and
outreach over the past month:

   1. Completed the 2012 Annual Report (hard and digital copies), three new
informational brochures about Tor and the first run production of new
"root" design t-shirts. Printed copies of the Annual Report have been sent
to Wendy's parents (Tor donors) and Jacob - anyone else wanting them please
   let me know.
   2. Attended South by South West as requested by The Knight Foundation
(see separate trip report) - secured a verbal commitment from The Knight
Foundation to host our Winter 2014 dev meeting in Miami, FL and completed
   all post-event follow-ups.
   3. Completed and submitted the Ford Foundation Executive Summary
   Proposal.
   4. Began the due diligence process and "overhaul" of the Tor Store -
including metric system to measure the return (qualitative and
quantitative) on Tor swag and the design of a "camera cling" to block
laptop cameras with a mini Tor logo.
   5. Drafted the plan to implementation a CRM (CivicCRM) for Tor - spoke
with CivicCRM and EFF (they have been using it for over 2 years) about
security and usability concerns. Shared the initial plan with Andrews for
comments/suggestions. I will share it on tor-internal for additional
feedback in the next day or so.
   6. Executed the Tor "Meet n' Greet" and Hack Day with Boston University
(follow-up feedback from our sponsors at BU has been very positive - they
would be happy to host future events).
   7. Began fielding and responding to media request through execdir - all
requests are being captured in a simple tracking database.

Focus for April...
- CRM - I'll be attending the CivicCon conference for CivicCRM at the end
of April - an opportunity not only to gain more knowledge to leverage this
tool securely but to also connect with the non-profit community in order to
learn time savings and optimizing features.
- Trainings - partnering with Runa on trainings to build towards some
"train-the-trainer" and consistent content generation.
- Updating Short User Manual - in partnership with Runa
- Tor "Press Kit" - pull together a Tor press "kit" of information
materials (hard copy and online versions) which can be used to update
existing Tor fans about our work and help new (potential partners)
- Updating the Tor Store (and possibly new vendor) with new "root design"
shirts and other Tor "swag" - note, this will be done a eye toward metrics
so we can gauge ROI for marketing materials such as these.
- Getting Damien his marketing materials for the LinuxFest Northwest
conference - anyone else needing annual reports, brochures, etc. please let
me know
- Continue fostering and coordinating outreach efforts in partnership with
Karen

Note: This week I will be attending Purdue University's CERIAS Symposium (
http://www.cerias.purdue.edu/site/symposium2013), as well as speaking at
the ITERA conference in Cincinnati - my first invitation to speak on a
paper I have written in my PhD program. Very excited!

Thanks everyone!
Kelley
