# Top 5 things I did in August 2012

 1. Responded to a flood of press calls about the scary "dark web".
Educated reporters on the deep web and explained that anything behind
a login prompt counts as the deep web. Just because Internet search
engines cannot crawl it easilyt, doesn't mean it is "dark and
scary". This includes Tor hidden services. PBS Marketplace, CBS,
McCleans, and others did stories. Our media page is generally at
 https://www.torproject.org/press/inthemedia.html.en.

 2. Helped Karen write two major proposals for 2-3 years of funding, if
 awarded to us.

 3. Worked on 2013 budget with Melissa.

 4. Talked to legal advisors about exit relay funding and logistics,
liabilities, and risks of this project.

 5. Talked to legal advisors about using our registered trademark to
play whack-a-mole with this growing list of fake torbrowser creators.

# Top 5 things to do in September 2012

 1. Write blog post about fake tor software.

 2. Hire a project coordinator. See
 https://www.torproject.org/about/jobs-projectcoordinator.html.en

 3. Present Tor to Interpol.

 4. Finish up 2012 budget and prepare for Board approval.

 5. Kick off Knight Foundation project now that contracts are executed.
