This one sounds interesting.  Once you have something written up, I'll
see if there's anything I can contribute, e.g., by running an analysis
how much families are used, how much they really help, etc.

Same here.  Maybe I can help once these ideas are written up somewhere.

Finding a better GeoIP database sits on my TODO list, too.  I'll take a
look at your results once I get to that task, and I'll comment on that
ticket once I have some results myself.
