Ok.  A fine test indeed.  I've heard from a few Chinese citizens that
the GFW has ramped up blocking everything in preparation for the June 4
Tiananmen Square anniversary. 

Also, you did this on a weekend, which is typically less traffic for the
network overall. I suggest leaving it for a week and seeing what
happens.
