     If you're on FreeBSD, install the ports-mgmt/portdowngrade script from
the ports tree, set the CVSROOT environment variable appropriately, and then
run it as "portdowngrade security/openssl".  If you're not on FreeBSD, then
use the procedure appropriate to the system you're using.  Ultimately, it
all comes from www.openssl.org, so you can also look there.

     If you got it via an HTTPS connection from the tor project's download
site without telling your downloader to ignore the SSL certificate, then I'd
say, yes.  OTOH, it would be nice if the project also provided MD5 and/or
SHA256 digests for the files as a lesser way to check their integrity.  The
last time I remember looking, the web page didn't give examples of either pgp
or gpg commands to a) fetch the appropriate keys from an appropriate key
server to check the files or b) check the files with those keys.  I do recall
such information having been posted to this list in the past, but given that
the list archives are still not searchable, older postings about file
verification are basically not locatable, so it would also be a nice touch
to have all of that laid out clearly on the download page(s).
