Hi,

we are pleased to announce the first release candidate for the new
hardened builds series. For now this is only for 64bit Linux machines.
The bundle can be found on:

https://people.torproject.org/~gk/builds/5.5a4-hardened-build2/

This is basically a 5.5a4 build with two major differences:

1) It is built with a hardened Tor (Address Sanitizer (ASan), Undefined
Behavior Sanitizer (UBSan), ...) and a hardened Firefox (ASan) to make
exploitation of memory corruption bugs more difficult.

2) There are no bundles per locale we ship anymore. Rather, we included
all languages we support into one bundle and let the user decide on
start-up which locale should get used. This got done in
https://bugs.torproject.org/12967 if you are interested in the details.
We eventually plan to ship this feature in regular alphas and release
builds (see: https://bugs.torproject.org/17400 for this task), too, thus
your feedback here is extra welcome.

Georg
