All good ideas, both Nick's and other's before and after.

Another suggestion: especially given the intended use, even better
than 'coneofsilence' would be 'portableconeofsilence' 
( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcKHBgZ_QKU for those unfamiliar and
willing to look at youtube).

While I do shout that I am in the cone of silence every time someone
tries to talk to me from the other room when I'm running water, if we
pass over the excellence of Get Smart, then
+1 for Moritz's and Alison's 'bifroest' suggestion.
