The Tor Project, a US nonprofit

In December 2006, Tor organized as a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation,
The Tor Project, Inc., and filed with the US IRS for our status as a 501[c][3]
public charity, a research/educational nonprofit.

As of now, donations to The Tor Project can be deducted from US taxes by the
donor -- however, we will need personally identifying information in order to
process your donation. Needless to say, we are developing a formal privacy policy
to cover this! We appreciate your patience.

We have recruited a stellar <a href="[page board]"board, and have opened an
office in Somerville, very close by our friends in Cambridge, MA at MIT and Harvard.

Please mail donations by check to:
The Tor Project
56 Waterhouse Street #1
Somerville, MA 02144
ATTN: Shava Nerad, Executive Director

To be able to deduct your donation we must have your name, address, and email or phone contact information. Due to government regulations we can make your donation anonymous in the sense of being unacknowledged, but we must have personally identifying information to comply with tax reporting requirements.

Please watch the web site for more information on our board,
donors, supporting grants, and other information!

We're very happy for the
continued administrative and other support offered to us by the Electronic
Frontier Foundation, and expect our relationship with EFF to be strong and durable.</p
