 Correct.

 know if it comes from Tor2Web gateways or regular client.

 Tor2Web has been phased out. The majority of relays today will reject
 single hop onion service connections (at the HSDir, intro point and
 rendezvous point).

 That is the best we can do. But of course someone could simply run a
 hacked tor relay that allows single hop connections and then make its
 client go through it as a rendezvous point. But there will still be 3 hops
 to the service.
