Comment:

 False alarm here, sorry for the unnecessary bug chasing and
 investigations. It was indeed  #33762 all along, I was confused because of
 the timings overlaps for the SIGHUP signal on the backends and the
 frontend connection testing cronjobs timings. Closing this.
