Comment (by anarcat):

it seems that the debian folks are aware of the problem and may be working
on it. there's been some movement to move debconf infrastructure towards
the commonly managed debian.org / DSA managed infrastructure. in parallel,
bytemark was bought out, staff was slashed and they're having networking
 problems.

what we're seeing is a result of the mix of all of that. the debian folks
also depend on the service, so it's likely to come back eventually.

the maintainer of the service is darst on irc, and he's also unable to
help as he doesn't have access to the machine. no one exactly knows when
 this will return.

 the bot is documented here:

 https://wiki.debian.org/MeetBot

it's mostly a plugin in the venerably `supybot` bot. the last known copy
of the source code is here:

 https://alioth-archive.debian.org/darcs/collab-maint/MeetBot.tar.bz2

setting that up would be fairly trivial, but I would wait a little longer
until we're sure debian folks can't bring it back up.
