 for what it's worth, i've been using ikiwiki for years now, and i'm not
 really happy with it. it's hard to deploy and kind of slow at generating
 rendered version of pages. its support for private things is basically
 non-existent (as in "out of scope"): you get to make the git repo and
 rendered website private yourself, which isn't a great improvement.

 for my personal website, i'm currently considering a switch to hugo, but
 there are many other static site generators out there that could fit the
 bill.

 in the context of TPI/TPO, however, you might be interested to know that
 we're considering a transition to GitLab and I believe GitLab has support
 for private projects and (therefore?) private wikis. Wikis are just git
 repositories with markdown files in it that get rendered on the website.
 so that could fit this requirement really well. see #30857 for the
 migration project.
