 What's the idea behind the "const-ification" in the other commit? FWIW: I
 am not sure whether this is actually bound to this bug (given you used the
 same bug number).

 As said in my previous comment another thing open for this ticket is
 adapting the changes to ESR 60. Additionally, we might want to open a new
 ticket for my point 1 in comment:57.
