Comment:

 Okay, now I'm not sure if this is a bug - it may be working-as-intended. I
 reinstalled the app from f-droid and the add-on is enabled on the second-
 run. I'll continue playing with this and see if I can reproduce the
 original issue. I wonder if I wasn't patient enough earlier.
