Comment:

 Automatic login for chat accounts is disabled for the same reason as
 automatic login for email accounts.
 wiki:torbirdy#WhyisThunderbirdnotcheckingfornewmessagesautomatically. It
 is true that you can enable this for email accounts but for chat accounts,
 adding exceptions is not a special case that is special enough IMO. (Of
 course unless you have a compelling case for this :)
