 For 2) in comment:49 take steps 1) - 5) (inclusive :) ) from comment:53
 and then

 6) Reload the CAPTCHA (as if you can't decipher what you are supposed to
 put in) or enter wrong text
 7) Solve the CAPTCHA correctly (eventually)
 8) Immediately afterwards select the built-in bridge option and there a
 meek PT
 9) Click the OK button
 10) Tor is exiting and a number of "you should close your browser" message
 boxes are popping up with all the suffering described in comment:49.

 I am not sure whether 6) is really needed but I only get the multiple
 message boxes popping up reliably without it and no reliable crash. Might
 be a race condition in that case?
