 I'm a big fan of getting everything in as early as possible, but if 0.3.0
 is meant to be frozen right about now, and this fix could destabilize
 things in ways we haven't tested much, getting it into 0.3.0 makes me a
 bit nervous.

 That said, if we put it into 0.3.1 and there's a problem with it, it will
 be a long time until we notice the problem, and we'll have forgotten about
 this ticket in the mean time. So that isn't obviously a winning move
 either. :)
