 Nick asked me to look through tickets with the 0.2.9.x milestone. A) This
 one is a bug report about 0.2.8.9, right? B) I would not object to a fix
 for this going into 0.2.9.x, but if turns into the remaining ticket in the
 way of a stable, back to 0.3.0 it goes! C) That said, if the fix in 0.2.9
 might mess things up for a tiny fraction of people who will take a while
 to notice, to me that's a danger sign for a late-in-the-release-cycle
 merge.
