Comment:

 Tried to do a patch for the first issue as
 b5ce3329581b29c61e81f69a5768d7ec0d4e30bf. Let's see if it works!

 For the second, I'm not sure I see the problem.  That code only includes
 dirent.h when _WIN32 isn't defined. _WIN32 is defined when _MSC_VER is
 defined, right?
