Comment:

 Hmmmm.  I don't have a solution yet, but here's a quick update: I can
 confirm that the problem still persists, and the disabled GzipFilter is
 not reflected in Git yet, because I only took it out locally on the server
 without committing.  I'll have to take a closer look at this and will
 report back once I have found something.
