 I'm hoping so too, or hoping that valgrind will be possible (watch out;
 it's expensive!) and turn something up.  My main guess right now is a
 memory corruption issue of some kind, though, since I haven't heard
 anybody else run into this, and since it seems to manifest in a different
 way each time.  But that doesn't explain why it would concentrate itself
 in consensus parsing.

 Anybody else have some ideas of what to test?
