 Ok, here is an updated goptlib branch based off master (aka goptlib 0.4).

 https://github.com/Yawning/goptlib/compare/bug12535_v2

 It's dcf's call as to if this should be merged, if I don't hear shortly, I
 will go with option 2 and update my `tor-browser-bundle` patch to apply
 this branch as an overlay.
