 Indeed, the server compression configuration does not work.
 I couldn't identify the reason yet.

 So, I tried web-app compression configuration. And, it works.
 (I use 'w3m -dump_extra ...' for testing this)

 Patch attached. It concerns build.xml and etc/web.xml.template)
 The jetty.xml changes can be removed or kept.
