Comment (by msfc):

 I *think* this problem is related to the 1/1/2000 date in the bundle
 causing the Mac's Dock application to not realize the LaunchPad database
 needed to be updated as its date is much more recent.

 After following the instructions at http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-
 refresh-the-launchpad-in-os-x/ to cause my LaunchPad database to be
 rebuilt, the TorBundle appeared.
